Le grand paranoïque, 1936, 62x62 cm, Museum Boymans-Van Beuningen, Rotterdam

Le grand paranoïque (1936)

Painted by:

Salvador Dali

If you had a chance to observe somewhat more paintings/studies of around 1936/1937,
you might have come up to a piece without title. With as subject a woman with flowerhead.
Many times this object someway or another made his way to final pieces. It's a theme of his dreams.
But if you look long enough at flowerheads you might see figures -- human figures instead of flowers.
This way Dalí has evolved into the creation of "The Great Paranoiac". It's a more detailed flowerhead.
